Sharing Ideas on Creativity and Getting Stuff Done

For the past year I’ve worked on developing ideas, essays, and a website for creativity. It emerged from the hard work of the past fifteen years learning to become a novelist, humorist, and essayist.

I’ve been writing for over forty years, but the first twenty-five I really didn’t know what I was doing. I figured a few things out, and got some things done, but something was missing.

I intensified my efforts, found a teacher, then found a better teacher, and got on the right path. Frustration has been replaced by excitement and fun.

Along the way, I learned as much about creativity as I did about the craft of writing. It finally dawned on me that what was missing during that first quarter century of effort was the proper care and feeding of my creative spirit.

I could moan and bitch about how I spent so much time jerking around. Instead, I’m going to share what I learned.

The short answer is that there are some specific things you can do to nurture, grow, and improve your creativity. When you have those routines in place, you’ll be able to harness your creativity and direct it at specific projects.
